Andy Takes a Husband review

Jesse Barrera, as Roman, and Isabelle Zufferey Boulton, as Andy, in the ICBINS workshop production of "Andy Takes a Husband" at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting.

The Stella Adler Studio of Acting, located in New York, has been the starting ground for many iconic actors such as Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro, Warren Beatty, Melanie Griffith, and Benicio del Toro.

Andy Takes a Husband was a play put on at the studio, written and directed by current Adler student Julia Rae Maldonado, and produced by Lauren B. Ferrel, late July, 2010. After seeing the play, it becomes obvious that Stella Adler’s studio is brewing new talent to take the acting world by storm.

We are nearly two weeks away from the opening of Andy Takes a Husband at Stella Adler, and what a tremendous relief it is to unburden myself of the play that caused me so much grief during its incubation and watch the characters come to life in the hands of the actors.  This is the part that makes it all worth it, folks:

So we don’t know the title of Manuel Perez’s new comedy yet, but the author tells us the new draft is HOT (capital letters).  We do, however, know that its next up for our reading series on Oct 17.

Collaborators include: Grace Aldridge, Sophie Aung, Ronit Aranoff, Jeremy Ferdman, Lauren B. Ferrel, Theresa Giacopasi, Erik Gullberg, Julia Rae Maldonado, Manuel F. Perez and Kire Tosevski.

ICBINS to read Trailer Park Special
